Friday Favourites #4.

Good Morning!

Back round to Friday and I am officially starting work (YIPPEE!). which part of me knows I am going to hate with a passion... But on with my ponderings. *edit* Sadly, start date has been shifted to Monday. Although, it does mean I get to mooch around for an extra day :)

Guerlain Écrin 4 Couleurs in 06 Les Fumes ~
I only have several Guerlain eye products, but this quad is most certainly one of my favourites! It is a neutral palette with 3 satin finished shades and a shimmery shade. The shades are a dusty pink (top), cool brown with pink micro sparkles (left), dark dusky brown (bottom) and a cool metallic taupe (right). The texture of all of these shades surprised me as I am used to the older quads, but they are all very smooth with a buttery texture. Makes for an easy neutral smokey eye!

MAC Mineralize Blush in Happy Together ~
Happy Together is the perfect nude blush for me, it was and still is one of my favourite MAC blushes! It is a Mineralize duo blush with a peach brown and a shimmery champagne. Swirled together it makes a gorgeous highlighter, but I prefer to use the shades separately as a blush then highlighter for more pop.

Inglot Freedon System Trio ~
This was a Christmas present from a dear friend, a very thoughtful present indeed! The trio contains
*109 AMC Shine, a pale iridescent pale pink.
*127 AMC Shine, a bright warm purple with silver shimmer.
*482 DS, a dark indigo with silver simmer.
Words cannot express how much I love the indigo shade, so smooth and pigmented! A great trio for a vibrant purple look :)

Chantecaille Lip Chic in Camellia & Zinnia ~
I have been in an anti lip product phase for a little while, but I want to change this! So easing myself in with the gorgeous Chantecaille Lip Chics. Camellia is a rosy pink shade, the perfect MLBB on my lips and Zinnia is a sheer red coral. Lip Chics are the perfect amount of sheer and balmy without any obnoxious stickiness. I have been really enjoying Zinnia, as you can see in my recent FOTD here. I hope it will be the gateway lipstick for brights, lol!

Finally...
Anthem of the week.
You Me At Six ft. Oliver Sykes (BMTH) ~ Bite My Tongue.
Something a little different from me. I just want to state that my musical tenancies do not usually lead me to You Me At Six, but this seems to be a very great direction for the lads to be going in. With a bit of bite from Oli and Josh's vocals really hitting the right spots, I am thoroughly enjoying this one...

Have you discovered any new favourites this week?
Thanks for reading and roll on the weekend ♥

NOTD: Barry M ~ Racing Green.

Hello!

Well it's a glorious Thursday quite frankly, perfect for a quick Nail of the Day (NOTD) post don't you think? :) A little inspired by the wonderful Driveller's green Suqqu nail polish she recently got, I couldn't help but get in that Christmas spirit...

Taken with flash on.

Taken in direct sunlight.

And, my creepy nails... They are a bit wonky these days, but I expect them to get worse as I'll be starting my more hands on job tomorrow. Thank goodness I don't mind stubs! This was only 2 coats of polish, with no base or top coat. I might add another coat and some glitter now :)

Taken indoors, in a well lit room.

Taken in direct sunlight.

That's all for today, what's your NOTD?

Rouge Bunny Rouge Papyrus Canary.

Good Afternoon everyone!

How have we all been? Well, I officially start work on Friday so there's definite progress on that side of things. I have new arrival in my nest of red bunnies (Rouge Bunny Rouge), my first Long Lasting Matt Eyeshadow in Papyrus Canary. I am not particularly fond of many matt eyeshadows as I like, no LOVE shimmer from the lash line to the brow! But every now and then one requires a matt neutral for something more sophisticated... Here we have it.

Rouge Bunny Rouge When Birds Are Singing...
Long Lasting Matt Eyeshadow in Papyrus Canary.

Taken in natural light. I love the embossed logo in these!

And next up some swatches of course. I managed to catch a little bit of sunlight before the clouds took over! Currently on the search for a decent 'cheap; lamp and a daylight bulb for the darker seasons. This is a single sweep of shadow on dry skin.

Taken in natural indoor light, nice and gloomy.

Taken in the last ever direct sunlight... :)

First impressions.
As I mentioned above, I don't usually buy mattes as I find them a bit chalky to work with.. Plus I can't help but love shimmer! But Papyrus Canary is the most smooth, silky, soft texture I have ever touched. I wasn't expecting such a wonderful colour pay off, not to mention the glorious texture that I know from Rouge Bunny Rouge. This shade makes a perfect brow shade or all over base for my lids with any neutral look.

Of course, I had to have a little play with this one after swatching.

Indoors with lights on, sun had gone by the time I was done :(

In a well lit room, next to the window.

Friday Favourites #3.

Good Morning.

So it's back round to Friday... This week has dragged so hard! But here goes, this week instalment of Friday Favourites :)

Lunasol Modelling Water Liquid Foundation in YO03 ~
After nearly a year of being addicted to my beloved Bourjois Healthy Mix Serum, it has been toppled by my favoured Lunasol foundation. It is a natural medium coverage that seems to last on my combo, messed up skin which I really appreciate having in the correct shade again!

Rouge Bunny Rouge Sea of Illumination Highlighting Liquid in Sea of Nectar ~
Sea of Nectar was my first liquid highlighter from RBR, but I had recently forgotten how much I actually loved it! It is the perfect golden peach shade that really adds a brightness my skin needs in these cold, harsh winter months.

Giorgio Armani Sheer Blush in #10 Beige ~
Being obsessed with glowy skin has led me back to #10. It is a beautiful sheer light pink with a gold micro shimmer. Very subtle and stunning alone or over a darker pink or peach blush!

Addiction Eyeshadow in Safari Mode (P) ~
This is possibly the most beautiful shade of green in my opinion. A khaki green with gold shimmer, really great for a quick wash or with a dark green based black to add depth. Check out The Driveller Kate's swatches of the entire Addiction eyeshadow line here!

Chanel Illusion d'Ombre in #84 Epatant ~
Okay, green fever has officially set in! I grabbed this for my work induction and added Safari Mode in the crease and became obsessed. These eyeshadows are just so easy to use, and the shimmery metallic finish is very much what I like in life :)

And finally...
Anthem of the Week.
Massive Attack ~ Paradise Circus (Gui Boratto remix)
I first heard this last year on the 2011 Lincoln MKX commercial last year whilst on holiday in Florida. Personally I find American commercials quite loud and brash (in the nicest way possible!), so of course I never paid them any attention. But the seductive rhythm and soft piano made me sit up and watch, then moments later jump on to Google and find out what my ears had just heard! I absolutely love the original version, but I soon discovered there are many fantastic remixes of this track. Do check out the Zeds Dead remix, if you can find the video too it's a very NSFL amount of sexiness. But for now, enjoy :)

EOTD: Rouge Bunny Rouge Fire Drops, Loose Glitter Pigments.

Good afternoon!

Well, it is officially FREEZING but at least the skies are blue and full of clouds when I wanted to take some decent pictures .____.
As promised, I had a play around with my new RBR Fire Drops, Loose Glitter Pigments in Embrace of Cashmere and Caress of Mink that arrived yesterday (see here) and I am very impressed! I wore them yesterday mixed with a little Sea of Showers and that stuff lasted 10 hrs with zero creasing. But today, I am testing them with just plain ol' Urban Decay Primer Potion. Now for dodgy pics...

Taken indoors in a well lit room.

Taken in direct sunlight to show the sparkles.

Products used:
Lunasol Modelling Water Liquid Foundation ~ YO03
Urban Decay Primer Potion
Rouge Bunny Rouge Loose Glitter Pigment ~ Embrace of Cashmere (lid& inner corner)
Rouge Bunny Rouge Loose Glitter Pigment ~ Caress of Mink (crease & lower lash line)
MAC Pigment ~ Vanilla (brow bone & inner corner)
B&C Lab Browlash Ex Water Strong Liner ~ Deep Black
Milani Liquif'eye Liner ~ Black
WnW Ultimate Brow Kit ~ Ash Brown (darkest shade)
Maybelline XXL Volume + Length Mascara (primer only)
Hourglass Film Noir Mascara ~ Onyx

As you can see, this was what I had to contend with today... Despite the cold, it is actually quite a nice day if it wasn't for those darned clouds!

Why thank you clouds >:C

And a quick picture I took of yesterdays look. All the products used are the same, except to apply the pigments I mixed them with the Highlighting Liquid in Sea of Showers!

With flash on to capture the metallic finish.

Anyone else played with the pigments from Rouge Bunny Rouge? I'd love to hear what you think :)

Haul: Change of plan... Rouge Bunny Rouge style of course!

Well hello again.

So I was planning a 3 day special of my favourite purples (as there may be a few of them), but a knock on the door changed everything! Yes, it was Mr delivery man with a parcel for moi. Indeed it was my RBR goodies from the Zuneta 20% promotion this weekend. Now, what did I get...?

From left to right:
Fire Drops, Loose Glitter Pigment
~ Caress of Mink (taupe)
~ Embrace of Cashmere (champagne gold)
Seas of Illumination, Highlighting Liquid
~ Sea of Clouds (white)
~ Sea of Tranquility (pinked white)

These are my first loose glitter pigments and WOW they are much bigger than I expected! The lid comes off revealing a dip stick which is rather cute quite frankly. On first impressions, the pigment themselves are not at all glittery, these 2 are more of a subtle shimmer which I can be built up for a gorgeous metallic finish (think MAC Pigments). They are very smooth and refined, with no need for a sticky base like other brands when swatched.

As for the Highlighting Liquids, I knew what to expect as I have had samples of each. A beautiful white from Sea of Clouds and Sea of Tranquility is a very gorgeous pinked white with a hint gold pearl, which was near impossible to capture today. Now some swatches!

Taken indoors, in the shade.

Taken in direct sunlight.

From left to right:
~ Sea of Tranquility
~ Sea of Clouds
~ Caress of Mink
~ Embrace of Cashmere

I will follow up with an EOTD (as a FOTD would be horrendous due to a very unwanted skin anger) using both pigments of course!

Layout Feedback.

Good morning all!

I am just interested in some feedback regarding the current layout and colour scheme of the blog. I am torn between the old black or the new white background. Of course I prefer the black one, but I find the text can disappear sometimes especially any links I post. Don't be afraid, I am in need of your honest opinions :)

Also, all the comments have vanished! Not really, I can see them in my dashboard. But I have installed disqus which will make it easier for me to respond to each comment.

Coming up is My Favourite Purples.

EOTD: Rouge Bunny Rouge requests.

Hello everyone.

Well, as promised I did a couple of requested looks using several Rouge Bunny Rouge (RBR) eyeshadows. I also took some wet swatch pictures as the finish of these eyeshadows is just amazing when used with a damp brush. The good news is you can use these eyeshadows wet without compromising the texture!

First up requested by The Driveller Kate, is a look using my rather sad looking Whispering Ibis (forest green). I think one will be repurchasing it as the texture seems to have changed after being coated in super glue, stupid Mira is stupid D:

Taken indoors next to a large window.

Taken in direct sunlight.
Rather a complex shade indeed.

Products Used:
MAC Studio Sculpt Concealer ~ NC30.
Urban Decay Primer Potion Eyeshadow Base.

Next up, requested by Chrissa requested a look using the gorgeous Bejewelled Skylark (warm chocolate brown). One of my favourite warm browns in my collection!

This really shows the true depth of Bejewelled Skylark!

Friday Favourites #2.

Good Morning!

As I sit here sipping on this mornings cup of tea, I can't believe it is Friday already *gasp* Anyway here we have it, this weeks instalment of my favourite products. As I have been forced to digging around in my stash instead of hauling at this time being, I have fallen back in love with a few oldies! I love a shop your stash challenge, but honestly... I love to haul more :)

Guerlain Meteorites Perles in Teint Beige 02 ~
I used these on my BFF for her wedding on Monday reminding myself why I love these so much. Teint Beige has 6 different coloured perles,
*shimmery white and shimmery champagne (highlighting)
*pastel peach and darkened peach (warming)
*pastel pink and pastel lilac (corrective)
As I prefer a matte finish I don't use meteorites as a setting powder, although when I do it is very subtle and refined on my skin. I have been loving these as a glow after all of my makeup!

Clarins Super Restorative Replenishing Comfort Mask ~
Firstly, thank you winter for drying me like I cannot believe! I usually reserve my deluxe samples of this mask for flights as I hate feeling like trash when I get off, but as my skin is rather temperamental lately this mask has really brought it to life again. I leave it on for 10-20 minutes (depending on how I feel), and my skin drinks it up. Afterwards it feels soft and nourished again. I think it's time to get a full sized tube!

Chanel Joues Contraste in 65 Espiegle ~
I'm sure you all know that I love all things peachy on cheeks, well this is no exception. Espiegle is one of my favourite Joues Contrastes hands down! For me it is a gorgeous light peach with subtle gold shimmer, very luminous and glowy on my skin. I really adore In Love, but find I can apply a bit too much and appear orange whereas Espiegle can be applied heavily without looking Tango'ed!

Rouge Bunny Rouge Long Lasting Eyeshadow in Delicate Hummingbird ~
Ah, the Hummingbird. I wore this shade (paired with Angelic Cockatiels) to the BFF's wedding on Monday, it has not left my make up bag since! It is the perfect dusky lilac in my opinion, great for a quick wash or as a lid colour with dark blues, purples, browns or even black. I think this will be the first RBR eyeshadow I hit pan on... See swatches here!

Dior Ultra Glow Gloss in 247 Pink Flirt ~
I am not particularly fond of lip products, I don't know why but they just don't speak to me?! But after purging my lip stash (heavily might I add), I discovered I obviously still love lipgloss :) With that, I have decided to start using them more and Pink Flirt is definitely my overall favourite from my current options. It is a more creamy finish, similar to MAC Cremesheen Glasses so much more wearable! Pink Flirt is a pale pink that seemingly evens out my mauve lip tone, it adds a nice sheen and has a slight plumping effect.

Carolina Herrera 212 VIP EDP ~
I am one of those girls that always wears perfume, it just seems to be part of my routine. As winter has kicked in, I turn to rich florals like Dior Pure Poison, Marc Jacobs Daisy or Armani Code (if I am wrong on the notes, apologies I am no perfume reviewer!) 212 VIP is perfect for day and night on me, a gorgeous vanilla rum to my untrained nose. Regardless of when or where I am wearing this one, I always receive compliments.

Anthem of the week.
Loco Dice ~ Seeing Through Shadows.
Something a little more minimal after last weeks dubstep remix, this song is full of bleeps, blurps and all kind of goodness. This one is a bit of a creeper, with it's intoxicating groove it soon drops a much thicker baseline towards the end. This song has got me through many train journeys and flights! Find out more here.

What have been your favourites this week or for the month of November?
Thanks for reading todays rambles, have a lovely weekend!

*edit* Good news on the job front, I friggin' start work on monday!! BRING IT ON >.<

Rouge Bunny Rouge Swatches.

Hello!

As promised here are some updated swatches of my current Rouge Bunny Rouge mini stash. Since my first haul earlier this year from Zuneta, I have been smitten with all of these products. Sadly, I have only been able to add one new product since that first haul. The textures and pigment is so complex, every product has been worth the so-called 'high' price tag. In my opinion it is darn good value and I'll certainly be buying more :)

Here is my current line up...

I actually love the packaging...
