Moving day!

Good afternoon!

So as the title suggests, today is finally moving day for me and my MR. After much faffing from other estate agents, the ones we are dealing with were fantastical! Anyways, this will be the start of a little AWOLness as there will be no internet connection in the new apartment... And of course, I won't be able to sort anything until Mr returns in a weeks time from Tenerife :(

However, I bring even more news! I have received a job offer for a call centre roll, UNCAPPED BONUS PEOPLE :) Will be starting Monday (26th November), so at least I will be busy not worrying about the internet... lol!

Thanks for reading and hopefully I'll be back sooner than I hope ♥

An update of some sorts...

Good morning my lovelies!

After a lot of faffing around (thanks to incompetent estate agents), me and my darling SO have finally found a property and awaiting the credit checks to be processed this week. Hoping to get the keys before this Friday as the Mr is heading off to Tenerife diving... SO I WILL BE ALONE D: Not to mention the fact that I have a potential job interview on Tuesday with the start date for the following Monday, ARGH!

Anyways, enough with my ramblings and onto me kicking my neutral rut with my dearest Driveller Kate. I have been absolutely stuck in rut with Chanel Kaska Beige and red eye liner and really wanted to break from this. So here goes, some dodgy pics and of course not to everyone's taste but I have had fun!

Red and green cut crease with double liner.
I spotted this look on Pinterest (here) and decided to give it a whirl, I did however prefer the variation I did the day before... One just forgot to take pics!

Products Used:
NARS Eye Primer
Pale golden green ~ Shu Uemura ME450 (inner lid & lower lash line)
Dark forest green ~ Inglot Pearl 414 (outer lid)
Mid toned green ~ Inglot AMC Shine 44 (blend)
Cranberry red ~ Shu Uemura ME160 (outer crease)
Red ~ Inglot AMC Shine 50 (intensify crease)
Black ~ Shu Uemura ME990 (cut crease & lower lash line)
MAC Pigment in Vanilla (highlight)
DollyWink Liquid liner pen in Black
Sleek Eau La La liners in Dragonfruit & Moulin Rouge
WnW Brow Kit in Ash Brown
Lancome Hypnose mascara

Sugarpill Heartbreaker palette.
I haven't had a chance to properly play with this yet, so this was the perfect opportunity! I have to say, I am not to fond of the texture of the shades I used on the lid. The other 2 were a dream to work with.

Products Used:
NARS Eye Primer
Sugarpill Heartbreaker palette
~ Acidberry (lid)
~ 2AM (crease)
~ Velocity (lower lash line)
~ Moochi (inner corner)
MAC Pigment in Vanilla (brow bone)
DollyWink Liquid liner pen in Black
Illamasqua Precision Ink in Scribe (white)
Clarins pencil liner in Black
WnW Brow Kit in Ash Brown
Lancome Hypnose mascara

Fyrinnae Superstar (pink).
Yet another first time play, but I know what to expect of Fyrinnae quality wise so this was easier to work with :)

Products Used:
NARS Eye Primer
Fyrinnae Pixie Epoxy
Fyrinnae loose eyeshadow in Superstar (everywhere)
MAC Pigment in Vanilla (highlight)
DollyWink Liquid liner pen in Black
Sleek Eau La La liner in Noir
WnW Brow Kit in Ash Brown (also used on lower lash line)
Lancome Hypnose mascara

Softened blue and taupe cut crease.
This is one of my favourite looks of the week, the blue did look more intense in real life... But I adore this combination!

Products Used:
NARS Eye Primer
WnW eyeshadow in Brulee (all over eye lid to brow bone)
WnW eyeshadow in Nutty (lid)
Rouge Bunny Rouge Fire Drops in Sleeping Under A Mandarin Tree (inner corner & lid)
Blue cut crease & lower lash line, a mixture of...
~ WnW eyeshadow in Stagedive
~ WnW eyeshadow in Lagoon
~ Sugarpill eyeshadow in Afterparty
MAC Pigment in Vanilla (brow bone)
MAC Fluidline in Blacktrack
Giorgio Armani Waterproof pencils in Or Antique & Copper
Lancome Hypnose mascara

And finally we have the typical Mira mess all bundled up on the floor! Well, that's all for today. I hope everyone has had a good weekend, I have a whole lot of packing to do...

TAG: Confessions of a beauty blogger.

Good morning all!

So I was browsing the blogosphere today and came across this tag post from one of my favourite bloggers lately... Kate from La Beaute et Le Blogueur (visit here). Please go and check her out, Kate has some wonderful swatches and pictures to view! Was possibly the main reason I got the Rimmel Kate Moss lipsticks, lol :)

On to the tag.

1. How many hours a week do spend planning/writing/uploading posts?
Not enough atm as I am trying to sort out my belongings and pack. Trying at least twice a week now until I settle and get back into a decent routine.

2. Are you a spender or a saver?
Spender for sure! But, I wish to change this as there are things in the non-beauty world I most certainly need now... A car being one of those!

3. When it is easiest for you to write posts?
Morning for some reason. It's when my head is at it's clearest.

4. What makes writing posts comfortable for you?
The fact that I am writing about something I am passionate about, well one of my passions anyway. I'm not a writer by nature at all, but beauty is something I am happy to ramble about for hours!

5. What's your worst make up/hair habit?
Hair, everything! I have no hair styling skills whatsoever. In fact, I am so lazy that I rarely break my look of messy tresses or plaited to the left (although the shaved side makes it easy to be lazy).

6. What's one quote you wish the world would live by?
Yes, I QUOTED DISNEY I KNOW! But, I always try to remember this one... It's not deep and meaningful or by anyone truly philosophical, but I think it has truth behind it :)

7. How long do you spend getting ready everyday?
No more than 15-20 minutes on my hair & make up, probably about 5 seconds on clothing.

8. What's your favourite post on your blog?
When the Driveller attacks... (see here). Was such an unexpected amount of love and thought put into a package! Kate knows I love her ♥

9. Who is a beauty blogger that you think deserves more subscribers than they have?
Definitely Kate from La Beaute et Le Blogueur. I really am impressed with the quality of the content :)

10. What's one thing you're excited about in the coming year?
Moving to Leicester (this is quite soon, weeks in fact!) and going to Amsterdam with the girls next May... Although, I'm looking forward to discovering more products from YSL. I have recently fallen in love with everything I've tried.

11. What's been your favourite blogging moment?
Finally breaking 100 followers, but I won't let that define me! If anything I post helps someone, then I am more than happy.

12. How long does it take to prep for a post?
Usually the only preparation I really focus on is the images, I am not the greatest of photographers so it takes a bit of work for me to configure the settings (usually getting it wrong regardless).

13. Are you wearing jeans/skirt right now or are you wearing pyjama bottoms?
Jeans with my trusty white 2 row pyramid studded belt and Famous Stars n Straps American Dream buckle (that thing weighs a tonne!).

14. What are you most proud of in your life?
I am proud of my tolerance and ability to get through the situations life has thrown at me. Also, for completing my London School of Beauty Make up course!

Well, that's all for today. I'm tagging anyone who fancies doing this one! Not sure what to do next, although I'm on a kick the rut week with fellow blogger Driveller Kate. I have noticed I've become a little obsessed with Chanel Kaska Beige eyeshadow quad and red liner, which isn't a bad thing in my books. But, I want to amp it up a notch and pull out the hardcore brights again... Yesterday I did a forest green and berry red cut crease, so let's see what I can bring you this week!

Thanks for reading and have a relaxing Sunday ♥

October Favourites.

Good rainy afternoon!

Well, autumn has roared in with so much rain and misery and reminded me it's time for my October favourites. Just a quick one as I've been very simplistic lately due to going back & forth between Leicester & Kettering. So here goes...

October favourites 2012.
YSL Le Teint Touche Eclat in BR50.
Now this is completely the wrong shade, but the foundation itself is perfect for my winter parched skin! It gives a luminous glow with natural finish for me. Now just to go and get a proper shade match :)

Chanel Les 4 Ombres in #18 Kaska Beige.
Sadly this eyeshadow quad has been discontinued, but it is also the EU version of baked shadows from Chanel. I know they are not popular, but I adore the finish and texture of these shadows. These colours make for a gorgeous neutral softened cut crease look.

Rimmel Stay Matte Long Lasting Pressed Powder in #001 Transparent.
I haven't had this powder for very long, but I have to say I'm very impressed by the fact that it works for my oily tzone. I use my regular loose powders for my initial makeup application, but add this powder on my tzone and it keeps those oilies at bay for me!

Illamasqua Precision Ink in Scribe & Wisdom.
Usually favouring a pen type liquid eyeliner, I wasn't sure what to expect from these dip pot style ones offered from Illamasqua... Thankfully, they consistency is very nice and the pigment is fantastic! I've been using Scribe (white) on top of my usual black wing to enhance it and got to say I love it.

Maybelline 24hr Colour Tattoo in On & On bronze.
This is the UK version of Bad to the Bronze, but it is so simple and easy to work with compared to my MAC Paint Pots. This one is creamy and blends like a dream, not to mention the gorgeous colour! It always wears like iron on my lids too.

Well, that's almost all for today... Bringing back my favourite track too! I have been utterly addicted to Iggy Azalea ~ My World like crazy, not to mention her killer lipstick shades and wedges ♥

And that's everything for today! What have been your October beauty favourites, beauty or music?

Karl for Shu Prestigious Bordeaux palette

Dzien Dobry!

That's good day in Polish, well I know I promised some WnW lipstick pics but something unexpected happened. A belated birthday present arrived in the post yesterday and one couldn't ignore it :) So, here's what arrived (many thanks to a certain driveller, I love you more than anyone does I SWEAR IT!)...

Pahlish Slow Fad of Love nail polish
Dior in Riviera nail polish
Butter London in Jaffa nail polish
Shu Uemura Karl for Shu Prestigious Bordeaux palette
The Body Shop Vitamin C capsules
Honoré Des Prés Bonte's Bloom fragrance
Marcelle Lux Cream eyeshadow in Sea Breeze
Kryolan Skinliner in #31 (IT'S RED)
Essence Kajal Pencil in Scream Green

And here's the show piece, the Karl for Shu palette. It's glorious! Swatches are taken in direct daylight.

And here's me playing with it today, I am very impressed with the textures and complexity of these eyeshadows. The golden glitter has scatterings of blue glitter in it!

Close up of the eye makeup...

Products used.
YSL Le Teint Touche Eclat foundation (this is a tad too pink for me, but will get a proper match!)
Rimmel Stay Matte pressed powder
Giorgio Armani Sheer Bronzer in #1
Illamasqua blush in Lover

NARS Smudge proof eyeshadow primer
Shu Uemura Karl for Shu Prestigious Bordeaux palette (all 5 sahdes used)
MAC Vanilla pigment (brow bone highlight)
DollyWink liquid liner pen in black
Clarins Eye Pencil in black
Rimmel ScandalEyes mascara
WnW Brow Kit in Ash Brown

Nothing, I have really sore dry lips atm :/

I must say again, I am very impressed with the formula of these eyeshadows. I have had a touchy feely session at Shu Uemura and still prefer the 1st and 2nd generation formulas! But the top 2 shades are just divine, so smooth and creamy :)

And finally, I had to play with the orangey nail polishes as it is my favourite colour on my nails ever! First up, Butter London in Jaffa. This is far more glorious than I ever wanted it to be, lol! And then Dior Riviera, I know not many are fond of Dior nail polishes but I am. A nice rich red toned orange *swoon*

Well, that's all for now. I will apologise in advance for any level of AWOL on my part as I am taking the first steps into moving to the city (YAY!). So will have to be packing up my stuff and offski on the outski :)

Thanks for reading and I hope you all have a good weekend ♥

Art Deco eyeshadows.

Good Afternoon people!

After a very long time of actually owning these Art Deco eyeshadows, yes yes since July... I finally get round to swatching them. Although, this is with my new camera might I add! Feels better using it rather than my phone :)

Okies, so here we go. All taken in natural sunlight and then direct sunlight to try and capture the complexity of some of the shades. Please excuse the state of these eyeshadows, some of them have gouge marks in due to my clumsy hands.

Now for swatches, these are all taken in direct sunlight as it is hopelessly grey indoors.

Top row, left to right.
#555, matte bone.
#375, matte warm taupe with blue subtle shimmer.
#05, cool pearly greyed taupe.
#17, cool multidimensional greyed taupe.

Bottom row, left to right.
#26, pearly pink champagne.
#20, warm golden brown.
#42, golden green.
#45, silvered green.

Well, I hope they are of some use to somebody out there. I have been really loving these eyeshadows for quite some time. I'll get back to catching up on Vampire Diaries Season 3 so I can start watching the new season...

Detrivore Cosmetics: A little introduction!

Good day to you all!

Sorry for the delayed posting, I momentarily forgot what I was supposed to do (arranging house viewings can be a bit of a pain, but 2 down and 3 to go). So, as this post says in the title I have for you some swatches of the 10 very randomly selected Detrivore eyeshadows I purchased a while ago. The only one I intentionally had to buy was Tak, which means Yes in Polish... How am I supposed to resist this :)

Okay onwards we go!

So as you can see, these are not quite as unique as say Fyrinnae or Meow Cosmetics for me. But they do have some beautiful wearable shades in there, not everything has to be complex!

Left to right.
Top: Abnormal, Dagon, Demolish, Furnace, Midas.
Bottom: Plague, Psychopomp, Sacrilege, Tak, Topiary.

Now onto the swatches, all pictures are taken in direct sunlight and the same alphabetical order as above.
First set are dry swatches.

Detrivore: Abnormal, Dagon, Demolish, Furnace, Midas.

Detrivore: Plague, Psychopomp, Sacrilege, Tak, Topiary.

Now you can see, nothing to shout home about. Basic colours, matte, satin & shimmer finishes. Only Abnormal seems to be the stand out shade... But hang on a minute Mira! You have Fyrinnae's Pixie Epoxy ♥
So this next set of swatches is over my much loved Pixie Epoxy. As you can see, many of the shades come to life and become far more vibrant and interesting. In particular Topiary and Plague.

Detrivore eyeshadows over Fyrinnae Pixie Epoxy.

Well, there you have it. I will indeed have a play around with these and post some EOTD pics as I have a NEW CAMERA!!!! Yes, my darling boyfriend got me a beast of a camera for my birthday on Sunday, so better pics a-go-go. Back on point, have anyone tried this brand before? Would love to hear your opinion.
Also, don't forget to enter my Illamasqua giveaway... only 9 days left!

Thanks for reading ♥

September Favourites.

Alright my lovelies!

So it's a couple of days late, but I thought I'd bring you my favourites from the month of September :) Can I just say, this picture is an embarrassment to all that is photography... I lost the sunlight and when it returned, it was kind of in an awkward place where one may have had her back to it to try and take the picture!

So what do we have?

Lunasol Modelling Water Liquid foundation (old formula).
I still absolutely love my Illamasqua Skin Base but the match is a little off, so I have been using the Lunasol and reminded myself how much I truly love it! Sadly, I am running low...

Lunasol Finishing Powder (old formula).
I finished up my MAC Prep+Prime loose powder and returned to this, it is so silky and so soft words cannot describe! Makes me wonder why I switched back to the MAC one?

NARS blush in Deep Throat.
I've been digging out all my NARS stuff lately and this one has become a staple as it looks good with most eye makeup for me! The perfect peached pink tone :)

NARS Pro-Prime Smudgeproof eyeshadow base.
Now this is still quite new in my life, but dear goodness does it blow the Urban Dcay variations out of the water! Now, this is all in my experience of course... But it seems to make my already nap-proof eye makeup wear like IRON?!

NARS Larger Than Life Longwear eyeliner in Rue Bonaparte.
Another new addition, but it has certainly made me wonder what took so long for me to purchase a nude liner? This is a bit more subtle than my trusty white, but works perfectly with bronzey or neutral eye makeup.

Sleek Eau La La liner in White Noise.
Ahhh, my trusty white liner! This bad boy is perfect for my extravagant bright looks on the waterline and as a base for lighter, brighter, bolder eyeshadows.

MAC Pigment in Golden Lemon.
What you don't know is that I may have totally spilled this everywhere when arranging the items for the picture, lol! But I am loving this as an inner corner highlight or placed in the centre of the lid with red tones to really make the eyeshadow glow.

MAC Paint Pot in Constructivist.
I am not usually fond of using any other Paint Pot other than Blackground, but Constructivist seems to work perfectly for all the rusty reds and golds I have been wearing lately!

Wet n Wild single eyeshadow in Nutty.
As you can see I love this... I love this so freaking much it's ridiculous! It makes for such an easy wash and works perfectly with my sometimes stupidly large winged liner looks >.<

Well, that's all for my favourites this month... What have been your September favourites? Also, I do have a little bit of a surprise coming up for tomorrow! be prepared for something Illamasqua related ♥

Sleek Pout Paints, an update.

Good Morning everyone!

So here we have an update on the swatches of my Sleek Pout Polishes. I have to say, I'm a little obsessed with these... so much fun to play with :) So, straight to the point with this one!

Left to right (same order for both images),
#153 Cloud 9
#161 Minx
#162 Milkshake
#158 Rosette
#160 Pinkini
#156 Peachy Keen
#155 Lava
#163 Peek-A-Bloo

The shade that surprised me the most from the new selection was Milkshake! I am not a fan of pale lips on me at all, but for some reason this seems to work (especially with a full on smoked out dark eye). Should I do lip swatches? I'm never sure if they are any help, but happy to attempt if people wish so :)

Well, that's all for today! Coming up next is September favourites seeing as we are now steaming through October...

Good day everyone!

I thought to myself, I should try *insert rambly notes here* I am probably not the best for this, but I gave it a shot anyway. Autumnal FOTD

Good Morning all!

Well, sorry for the lack of updates a little bit of bad news came my way last Friday which may have been a bit soul destroying... I know, drama queen alert! But I have been made redundant at work and today is sadly my last day, a little sad about it as I'll miss my Piranha boys. But anyway, lets move on with a FOTD from Wednesday :)

Felt a little inspired by a few of the current Youtube videos in my sub box, and decided to go for an Autumnal look. I'm not one to follow the seasonal changes, maybe a dabbler in the fashion seasons but this I quite enjoyed. Please note, I may have done something very drastic on Monday... Yes that's right, I shaved the right side of my head! Cue derpy face on pics... >.<

Products Used.
Lunasol Modelling Water Liquid Foundation
Chanel Poudre Cristalline
Giorgio Armani Sheer Bronzer #1
NARS Gilda & Sertao blushes

NARS Eyeshadow Primer
Maybelline Colour Tattoo in Permanent Taupe
Shu Uemura eyeshadows (2nd generation)
~ ME860 (crease & lower lash line)
~ ME160 (upper crease & lower lash line)
~ ME350 (inner corner)
~ IR800 (centre of lid)
MAC Vanilla pigment (browbone)
DollyWink Liquid Liner pen in black
Sleek Eau La La liner in White Noise
WnW Brow Kit in Ash Brown
Rimmel ScandalEyes mascara

Blistex Relief Cream (chapped lips a-go-go!)

Okies, please excuse my close up of the eye makeup pic. I was having many issues with this eye which was why I wasn't posting many FOTDs. As you can see the texture is a bit off, that's because the lid is drier than the desert still but at least it's not swollen, red or pufftastical anymore!
Also noticed I have made it to 100 followers via Google Friend Connect. I think it may be time for a little giveaway don't you? :)

Thanks for reading and have a good weekend ♥

Rouge Bunny Rouge comparison swatches.

Good evening!

Well, this is indeed a request post (Yes Driveller, this is for you!!) as I recently acquired 2 more Rouge Bunny Rouge eyeshadows in Tantalizing Lovebird and Veiled Lyrebird. So here we have it, a comparison of Lovebird and Lyrebird with Angelic Cockatiels, Fire-Tailed Sunbird and Unforgettable Oriole. Pictures taken in direct sunlight, in which certain multi-dimension sparklies became more apparent!

From top left, clockwise:
~ Unforgettable Oriole, white gold.
~ Veiled Lyrebird, peachy pale pink.
~ Angelic Cockatiels, cool golden peach.
~ Fire-Tailed Sunbird, holographic apricot pink.
~ Tantalizing Lovebird, cool coral pink.

Swatched in alphabetical order, as you can see the new arrivals are far more pink compared to the other eyeshadows. Well, I hope this is of some help to someone! I will be doing a FOTD using Veiled Lyrebird soon as I am absolutely in love with it :)

If you do have any requests for swatches or FOTDs, please feel free to leave a comment or even email me!

Lipstick madness.

Good morning all!

I do not know what has happened lately, but I have been indulging in a bit of lipstick madness. I mean brights, reds, vamps... I'm not entirely sure what is going on, but I think I like it! (that phrase always reminds me of Spencer from iCarly, lol!). Anyways, back to the point. I decided to get hold of a few of the Sleek Pout Paints in hope of custom mixing a colour from a Tumblr post I seen, it was actually driving me crazy. Then yesterday, took a stroll into town and picked up 5 of the Rimmel Kate Moss lipsticks. One shade which is totally not my typical choice :O
So here we go... All pics taken in direct sunlight, which thankfully came out from behind the clouds.

Sleek Pout Paints, purchased from here.

Left to right:
~ Lava, bright orange.
~ Pinktini, cool bright pink.
~ Cloud 9, white.

Rimmel Kate Moss Lipsticks, purchased from Superdrug instore but you can find them on here.

Left to right:
~ #04, dark purple.
~ #05, warm medium pink.
~ #12, bright coral red.
~ #19, rosy brown pink.
~ #22, warm bright red.

I really love the original shades that Rimmel released as they smell so fruity which is a change from their usual crayony lipstick scent. Sadly, the recent ones (#19 & #22) do have that scent which I will just have to ignore! I am looking forward to the matte lipsticks however, these and the new pencil eye liners of course. If I remember correctly, I'm reading 3rd October in the blogging world (UK date). I have indulged a little more as I had another Sleek discount code to use up and bought 5 more of the Pout Paints :)

Finally, I did a little playing around with the Sleek Pout Paints and mixed about equal amounts of all 3 shades and slapped it on! I was so impressed at how little you really need. Apologies, this is after a 2 and half hour nap... So hair and makeup is a little slept in.
