Zoeva #322 Brow Line brush.

#Nevertrustsomebodywithbadeyebrows

Well.
I am an absolute sucker for a good strong man brow. Yes, that's right! I like my brows chunky, full and flattened :)

Which had me consider a new brow brush recently. Don't get me wrong, I do quite like my trusty SUQQU Eyebrow G but have been hankering for something with shorter bristles and wider brush. This lead me to Zoeva (thank you Laitae!)... I do like synthetic brushes, some of my HG brushes are inexpensive synthetics to be fair. But wow this brand seems to be a much better deal than Sigma are these days!

I settled on the #322 Brow Line brush from Love-Makeup, although at the time of typing this it is currently out of stock. It also seems to be out of stock on Zoeva until early March, this site does ship internationally too.

The brush comes nicely packaged in a lovely zip up case, one shall be using this for brush storage in my bag! Also a little plastic sleeve to protect the brush which admittedly I toss straight into the bin.

In comparison to the SUQQU, it is much shorter and wider indeed. Sorry, had to retake the picture as it was originally extremely dark... So this is after a pathetic wipe attempt. The SUQQU G is certainly ideal for a soft natural look, but does involve a lot of brushing out with a spoolie afterwards as it tends to give a fair bit of depth in colour application. The Zoeva however, seems to be perfect for a more softer approach. It certainly seems to cover a wider area, for me this is essential in my early morning rush to get ready. What I do actually prefer from this brush is the thin straight line application, giving me a far more structured brow!

Top: Zoeva (left) and SUQQU (right)
Bottom: Zoeva (top) and SUQQU (bottom)

Overall, I am quite impressed with this brush that only cost 5.50GBP! I may have to dabble in a few more once I sort out my job situation (I have interviews all over the place as I need to get out of my current role, lol)

Hopefully that is of some use to somebody out there!
Any other brow brushes I should consider? Leave a comment or send me an email :)
Thanks for ready ♥

Urban Decay Naked 3.

Hello!

As I sit here pondering about blueberry pancakes, bacon and porridge... It may be morning right now, I thought I'd better kick start my swatches of my most recent purchase! Yes, I gave in to it's cry of glory. I purchased the Naked 3 palette. Now, this is a very odd move for me since I tend to favour more warm or golden tones for eyeshadows (explaining my on going affair with Naked 1!). But after I spotted it at the counter in my local Debenhams store, I had to swatch it... There was no going back, some of these tones were exactly what I have been looking for in my stash lately and seemingly missing as I purged a lot of my rosier pinks a long time ago :O

On to the imagery... We all know what to expect of this palette now as it's been available for quite some time. So nothing new here!

My camera flash killing it as always!

And close ups in more 'natural' light, bring on the spring sunshine as I'm sick of not getting decent light. Right, let's get on with the swatchings. Now my arms are somewhere between NC25-30, probably closer to NC25 as it's winter! I swatched the shadows on bare skin, no primer and with my finger :) I had to adjust my camera settings for the second half as the shades were pulling very cool, which they are a tinge but they are a bit more pink toned on me.

Left to right:
Strange ~ Matte
Dust ~ Glitter
Burnout ~ Shimmer
Limit ~ Matte
Buzz ~ Shimmer
Trick ~ Shimmer

As you can see, slight adjustment which actually shows my red arm from removing the shadows!
Left to right:
Nooner ~ Matte
Liar ~ Metallic
Factory ~ Shimmer (low)
Mugshot ~ Metallic (I love this guy!!)
Darkside ~ Shimmer (low)
Blackheart ~ Glitter (low)

It genuinely shocks me that I picked this up, I think the kicker was how genuinely smooth all the shadows felt to touch/swatch instore even on the tester palette! My brand new one is even nicer, there seems to be a difference in this palette and my original release of Naked 1... Was expected as I know Urban Decay reformulated recently, but still this is for the better.

After a very foolish mistake whilst doing my work FOTD yesterday, these have genuinely proved themselves to me. I may have forgotten to put on primer, which with my eyelids is essential due to my good ol' hooded lids. I thought, heck I'll continue and put these to the real test! To my surprise, on returning home after a very tedious 8hr shift on a Saturday... My eyeshadow was still perfect with no creasing! Mugshot, you have won my heart :)

Well, that is enough ramblings for a Sunday... Would love to hear your thought on combinations for this palette!
Enjoy the weekend and thanks for reading ♥

Friday Favourites #7.

Good morning everyone!

Well, it's time to get onto this weeks favourites. It's been a bit of a different week quite frankly... Been mixing up some stash faves, new products and completely random items?! Shopping ones stash does come up with some interesting results, although I do feel another large purge coming on which means it'll be time for another blog sale :)

Anyways...

Please excuse the pictures, lighting really sucks in my apartment and the sun doesn't want to stay in or out for more than 5 seconds a time  meaning flash randomly kicked in!

Blistex ~ Intensive Moisturiser.
My lips are completely dried up and peeing like no other atm, this stuff is not my HG for these conditions but it's what I had access too. I'm quite surprised at how much I actually do like this, certainly is the key player in the restoration of my lip hydration. It does have that classic Blistex tingle and scent however.

OPI nail polish  ~ Live.Love.Carnival.
I only bought this guy on Monday, but it has been stuck to my nails since. As someone who bores easily of polish shades, I love the slightly neon coral hue of this one. Perfect to kick me back into spring after the winter months.

Shu Uemura ~ Nobara Cream Cover Stick (#754).
I had honestly forgotten I even had this as I had been living in very full coverage foundations. But this is utterly perfect for my early morning starts and combination skin. Gives my face the perfect natural finish I love.

byTerry ~ Touche Veloute (#2 Cream).
This wonderful concealer/highlighter is admittedly far too pale for my too use as a normal concealer. I have been using this as a highlighter however, to softly contour my face.

BeneFit ~ Bad Gal pencil.
This was actually one of those legendary Glamour magazine freebies I used to grab. I was never really fond of this pencil as it wasn't quite as inky black as I'd hoped. But I have recently been favouring a more softened look for my lower lash line, which means this has been working like a charm. It is really soft and smudgy as one would expect. I do wish it would last longer though!

Wet n Wild ~ Fergie Eye Primer.
This is actually the shocker for me! I am a huge fan of NARS and Makeup Academy's primers, so never really considered anything else, but this was sent to me in a very generous package (thank you eyescatchfire!). This is much more matte than I expected, but really does hold up on my creasey lids all day.

Cheers flash .______.

Urban Decay ~ Naked 3 palette.
I did give you a sneak preview in my last post, but I have genuinely been obsessed over this palette since I brought it home! Who would have thought I'd even consider such rosey, cool tones?! I will say these shadows are much smoother than my original Naked (first release with dual liner) palette. I am even considering getting the Naked 2 and Naked Basics palettes :O

MAC blush ~ Well Dressed.
This was one of my first MAC blushes, also one that I tend to ignore as I always have mixed feelings about it. (I think it was good ol' Lollipop26 that triggered this purchase). But on top of brinzer, it gives me the most subtle blushed finish, great for my more dramatic eye looks.

Real Techniques ~ Miracle Complexion Sponge.
I bet none of you expected such a purchase (hey, discount at Escentuals!!)... To think I have gone so long without ever considering any of this fancy sponges?! I am utterly amazed at how my foundation looks after using this, even with something as heavy as Kevyn Aucoin Sensual Skin Enhancer.

Fyrinnae ~ Oil Control finishing powder.
I got this with my most recent Fyrinnae haul, more a spur of the moment addition as I quite liked the Hollywood Sorcery finishing powder. I have to say, it absolutely does slow down more crazy oily tzone! I have just been tapping on a little bit over my tzone along side my usual Rimmel Stay Matte and I haven't needed to touch up my base makeup at work at all.

On that note!
Anthem of the week.
Caravan Palace ~ Rock it for me.
This is very unusual for me to like, but dang the entire album (Panic) is utterly amazing :)

Well, that's all for today. Time to get swatching for you lot...
Have a fab weekend and thanks for reading ♥

Happy New Year...? Whoops, it's almost the end of February already!

Well, good evening people!

Long time no see you ask? Well, I have been a tad busy working stupid hours now that I mentor new employees at work... But I shall not go into that!
How is everyone and I hope 2014 has gone well so far! I bring you haulings and a FOTD... Up first is a bit of a random haul when I was going for some B2M lipsticks yesterday. Things junped into my hands, I swear! :)

Well, who would have ever thought I'd pick up Urban Decay's Naked 3 palette?! My initial thoughts of this palette were, MEH quite frankly. Rosy pink hues? No thank you. Then I touched it. I felt it. I needed it! So many of the shades were what I have been looking for within my own stash, I couldn't NOT get it right? RIGHT? I also grabbed my B2M lipsticks of Chatterbox & Russian Red along with a repurchase of Studio Fix Fluid (can't believe this is my fourth bottle!). Finally adding Bourjois CC Cream and OPI Live.Love.Carnival nail polish. I think a review of the Bourjois CC Cream will be coming up and I need to get back to my Friday faves right?

Anyways... Onto a quick FOTD. A certain Driveller blogger, sent me a rather freaking awesome package towards the end of last year. An absolute pick me up and a half! This package contained the magical Shiseido Eye Bar I had been coveting since the pre-release info fell upon my eyeballs. I won't bore you with swatches as they are already all over the interwebs, but here is one of my favourite looks I have done with the palette as of late.

Many apologies for the puffy winter face, I have gained weight and really need to do something about this issue. Flash also kicked in, which is a PITA but it is rather dark atm still... Bring on summer already!
